Abstract
This 25 year simulation presents the economic dynamics of first generation steam power verses animal powered transportation. It also shows the explosive economic impact of second generation steam power. In addition, the simulation demonstrates a technology clustering effect where additional new technology tends to go near the last round of technology investment. Thus by mid 1860s the north of Whalesland is well developed with a rapidly growing economic base, while the southern part of Whalesland is a rural and under developed as n 1850.
